Babbling Brook

Who'd have thought the phrase
would be so literal
I sit here quite amazed
as I listen to you speak

If I'm very, very quiet,
and listen with my eyes
I hear your story as you cry it
of your journey unending

I hear of eddys and of falls
of detours and of bends
Of continuing though all
for the journey is the key

How wise the babbling brook
if only you will hear
And with your ears you look
Life's lesson it will lend
