Aspect: Ireland Drogheda Girl 17 Battle of the Boyne 1690
Battle of the Boyne 1690, Drogheda Ireland on East CoastJC 11.01.2010: [It's spelled Drogheda, but pronounced as a "c", I forgot about the spelling!] I was a girl with long black hair. a long black skirt, peasant blouse and bare feet. I was running across one of the 2 bridges over the River Boyne, as English Soldiers were killing my family back in the village. I was very upset, and thinking - I am only 17! I got across the stoney hump-backed bridge and ran underneath it, only to find soldiers in red and blue uniforms also under it. I waded across Battle Of The Boyne 1690, Williamites vs Jacobites, Drogheda Irelandthe river and got up the banking, one soldier came over to me, looked me in the eyes, looked around at the other soldiers, and to save me from a fate worse than death, his eyes told me that he would stab me as quickly as possible in the heart - which he did. [I have met him again in this life (but did not discuss this with him). I know he recognized me, though, as each time we met , we became lost in a look lasting for ages, without speaking. In this incarnation he is a surgeon!!]

JC 11.05.2010:  At first I thought I had been tuning in to you with the name McBride. BUT OMG I looked up the name Mcbride and MacBride in names of around that time, and could find no mention - but then LOOK at this: Drogheda - McBride - 1690. I typed in 'Drogheda - McBride - 1690' and there is something saying that the Railway Station was re-named McBride Dogheda station!!!!  WOW!  I will try to tune in some more, but already saw that castle on a mound many times before. I was sitting with my back leaning against it on the grass - waiting for someone that I loved very much to come back to me, knowing that they would not be Millmount Barracks, Drogheda Irelandreturning. It was a soldier who had already been killed before the Battle in which I died - I did not know until I saw the picture of it that the 2 were related! I thought it was a Castle in England in another life! Wow, I'm getting really cold shivers. I know what you are saying about that life affecting this one, but I  don't want to upset my equilibrium, also I was here in the 1890s, would that life not take precedence?
...
Here is the ['castle on a mound'] link: Regiments Based in County Louth 1689-1910. I assumed it was a castle behind me - but maybe was a barracks - this is the grassy knoll I have seen myself sitting on many times in the past. I know I was waiting for a soldier to come back - I did not live in the round tower behind me. It was another sunny day and a slight breeze was fanning the longish grass. I am quite sure that my husband John is the man I was waiting for, but for some strange reason see him in the red jacket on a brown horse - which is presumably the uniform of the enemy! [BTW] I may have been my grandmother's great great grandmother. lol! It is interesting that my grandmother came from Ireland - albeit the north, and my husband's grandmother was from the Dublin area. I noticed a lot of MARTINS in the Drogheda area, while looking for the name McBride - and Martin was my husband's grandmother's maiden name.
...
I always feel cold shivers when I have hit on the truth of something! I was beginning to doubt the name, as I couldn't find any McBrides mentioned, but even though John McBride was later - at least it showed that there may have been some in the area earlier. Having read a little bit about the battle, it appears that 200 Loyalist soldiers (who would have been Irish) were killed in the town, so it's possible that my soldier WAS in red - even though not an Englishman. Isn't it strange all that is coming to light! It is even MORE weird if that incarnation is happening at the same time as this one, as some people believe!
JC 11.03.2010: I'm afraid I haven't done any research at all to prove the validity of what I remember. I didn't remember it all at once, just in pieces here and there. I have a feeling that the bridges - will now be more modern . The picture looks a bit like the bridge could have looked, but at the side that I ran down, it sloped quite steeply. I seem to think that Drogheda Ireland, Boyne Old Bridge, 1690 Battle of the Boynethere were 2 into the village, one further downstream where the soldiers entered the village and the one I was trying to escape by, not thinking that there would be soldiers on both banks under it. I have been to a place called Castle Douglas (staying at the castle) for the weekend, which might not be far from there, but we went for a wedding, so had no time for much else. I probably would have been Catholic, and always had an affinity for it, even though I was brought up a Drogheda Ireland, OldBridge, Aerial View 2008Protestant. Because I married a Catholic (in my church) I thought it was because of that. I have no idea what colour the uniforms were historically, these were red jackets. Apart from the skirt and blouse, I was also wearing a shawl. I don't remember anything about the life, only the last few minutes before death. I loved my long black hair, and still have a 'thing' about long hair. I know that the river 'ran red' with the blood of the people who were murdered. I don't know why we were attacked though. When I get more time, I will probably do some research. When I was in Ireland I felt an emotional attachment to the area, but thought it was because my grandmother was from Northern Ireland, but now I think there is more to it than that. Oh I worked in a shop in the village - I've just remembered! I would like to go one day!

JC 11.04.2010: Wow, when I saw the uniforms in the 'Battle of the Boyne' video I got a cold shiver! On a google page yesterday, I saw soldiers who were wearing suits of armor, but these soldiers definitely wore soft red jacket uniforms. I have had no formal knowledge of the history, and didn't find out any details of the name of the Battle etc. until the memories caused me to find that out. I checked on a Google search page yesterday, which said that there was only one bridge into Drogheda for hundreds of years. But I think the important thing as regards that is that the soldiers entered via the other side of the village to the one I was leaving by, and I know that it was further downstream that they entered. I remember that I ran home from the shop when the attack started, and was terrified when I saw that my family (mother, father, younger brothers and sisters) were already being attacked - I felt guilty about running away, but I was running for my life. My hair was down past my waist, I brushed it 100 times per night and was very proud of it. It was blowing behind me as Drogheda Chord Road 19th century engraving Laurence's Gate, 3th century barbican, built to defend town gateI ran up dust roads past scattered white houses, it was a sunny day. My name was something like Laurie McBride. I used to write the name Laurie on my school books when I was about 8 (I have a daughter in this life with the name Lori). I don't think I had particularly anywhere to run TO, my only thought was to get out of the village. Some of the soldiers had horses, and I knew that they were English. As I ran I saw a friend leaving her house with her mother but did not see where they went. After the 1st memory, I drew the bridge - it had cobble stones on it. When I got to the other side of the river, I waded back across the stream and up the banking. The stone wall of the bridge continued along the banking for a way, and it was against the stone wall that I was standing (it was higher than me) when the 'kind' soldier ended my life. I felt little pain. I am a bit nervous about remembering much else, as I know that I was filled with anguish about my family.

JC 11.06.2010: As Laura, I feel very young and innocent, and ignoring what my parents are telling me about 'romantic notions'. It seems that I am tuning in more as I write these words than if I sit down and make a conscious effort. I only saw the name John McBride after I clicked on the Drogheda-McBride-1690 that I typed in. I then followed another link which took me to John McBride. Until then I was worried that none lived in that area - and thought my imagination was running riot!  I worked in a shop which sold things that I couldn't afford, such as beautiful leather gloves. There was a tannery in the next town that a lot of people worked in. I started to Awaken in the 70s after a 'Near Death' Experience at the dentist!
