Graveside services for Kate Robinson, 93, Crider, Mo., will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at the Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Robinson died 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in NHC HealthCare. She was born June 9, 1915, near West Plains, Mo., to Jack and Veda Ledbetter Tilson. In 1937, she was married at Crider to Floyd (Josh) Robinson who preceded her in death on June 27, 1974.

She is survived by her daughter, Merlene Collins, husband, Bob, Crider; four grandchildren, Ronnie Collins, Crider, Carolyn Day, husband, Gene, West Plains, Barbara Busbey, husband, Denis, Pottersville, Mo., and Dennis Robinson and friend, Tashia, Pottersville; six great-grandchildren, Bryan Tharp, Josh Robinson, wife, Genny, Kelsey Nelson, husband, Leon, Kourtney Day, Rowdy Robinson and Bobbi Ann Busbey; two great-great-grandchildren, Keylie Vaughan and Baylie Tharp; two brothers, Nevin Tilson, wife, Imogene and Enoch Tilson, wife, Pauline; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tilson and Ann Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband, Josh Robinson; two sons, Leroy and Leon Robinson; daughter-in-law, Vivian Robinson; grandson-in-law, James Tharp; two brothers, J. B. Tilson and Ervin Tilson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins precede her in death.

Mrs. Robinson will lie in state from noon Sunday, Dec. 7 until noon Monday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.



Funeral services for Vetris “Sugar” Bruffett, 75, Pomona, Mo., will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bruffett died 10:02 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at her home. She was born July 5, 1933, in Howell County, Mo. to Lewis and Essie Collins Wake. She was married to Oscar Howell. On Dec. 2, 1975, she was married at Norwood, Mo. to Howard Lee Bruffett, who preceded her in death on Aug. 21,1999.  Before her retirement, Mrs. Bruffett was employed as a cook at the Pleasant Valley Manor. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bruffett attended the New Liberty Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children, Christine Collins, husband, Rickey, Ann Rosenbum, husband, Gary, Oscar Howell, wife, Virginia, and Rhonda Sinor, husband, Ted, all of West Plains; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Eddie Wake, wife, Paula, and Glen Wake, wife, Violet, both of West Plains; four sisters, Neva McCrackin, husband, Leman, Kansas City, Mo., Lavon Pliler, husband, Junior, Joplin, Mo., Edna Storms, West Plains, and Marilyn Howell, husband, Dalton, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband; one great-grandson; one brother, E. J. Wake; one sister, Virginia Strickland; and two infant sisters precede her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery, Norwood. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.


Funeral services for Vida Lorene Burk, 94, Springfield, Mo., and formerly of West Plains, will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burk died 6:50 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in Christian Health Nursing Home West, Springfield. She was born April 15, 1914, near West Plains to Walton and Blanche Bennett Gilliam. She graduated from the Peace Valley High School, and on May 18, 1935 was married at Alton, Mo., to Doyle Lon Burk, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1999. Mrs. Burk was a member of the Church of The Nazarene, West Plains, and had been a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary, West Plains.

She is survived by her son, Ray Burk, wife, Bonnie, Springfield; four grandchildren, Donald Burk, wife, Kim, and Gary Burk, wife, Michele, both of Springfield, Cathy Burk, Battlefield, Mo., and Paula Stamper, husband, Gordon, Ozark, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Austin Gardner, Hunter Stamper, Aaron Burk, Hannah Burk and Callie Burk; one sister, Tava Summers, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband; one infant son, Roy Neal Burk; and one sister, Alta Lea Gilliam; precede her in death.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Barnett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
