Graveside services for Joy Gladys Wallin, 97, Mansfield, Mo., and formerly of West Plains, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at South Fork Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wallin died 1:45 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Rocky Ridge Manor, Mansfield, Mo. She was born July 3, 1910, at Amy, Mo., to Charley G. and Dicy Bales Carrell.
She received her education in the schools of Howell County, Mo., and on Oct. 5, 1929, was married at Arditta, Mo., to Harold Clifford Wallin, who preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1977. 
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Jeffreys, husband, Jim, Mansfield, Mo., and Opal McMurtrey, husband, Jerry, West Plains; four grandchildren, Randy Holmes, wife, Kim, Gary Holmes, wife, Pam, The Colony, Texas, Greg McMurtrey, wife, Melissa, West Plains, and Michelle Holden, husband, Scott, Nixa, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Trivitt, Napa, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; her stepmother, Bertha Carrell; husband; one infant brother; four sisters, Nellie Fox, Floetta Whitehead, Goldie Nicks, and Roxie Sloan; and four brothers-in-law precede her in death.
Mrs. Wallin was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a Christian and attended Victory Family Worship Center for many years.
Her 5-year-old great-granddaughter, Alexia, summed it up the best by saying, "Grandma is now in Heaven making new friends."
Mrs. Wallin will lie in state from 2 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to South Fork Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
