Biography

Born Jan 5,1953 at Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Graduated 1971 Shelton High School, Shelton, WA.
Married Brenda Sakrison Oct. 31 1981
2 Childen:  Brian 19; Christa 17
Brian won IFSS Jr Championship in 2002 4 dog 20 mile class. 
He competed at state swim meet last year in 3 events, medaling in 2.
Brenda and Christa are active in 4H horse and pony program.
Christa won Grand Champion at Dane County fair last year with her registered paint horse, Hamp. She has high hopes for this year’s state fair in Milwaukee.
They operate a small horse-boarding stable and lease out our own horses to 4H kids.
I have been an outdoorsman all my life. Growing up in western Washington led me from Boy Scouts to skiing and mountaineering in the Olympics and Cascades.  As a boy my bike, fishing pole and Winchester .32 special were well-used.
When I was a toddler a native boy on the base would come to give me a ride in his one-dog rig.
Brian had trouble with reading so we moved to DeForest instead of fighting with the school about it. I had promised him he could have a dog when we moved away from the city. The first chapter book he was able to read was “Balto” so of course the kind of dog he wanted was a husky.  We bought a male companion for his dog Amber in hopes it would settle her down and a few months later we had 9 Siberian Huskies. Brian graduated with high honors and I ended up with a dog team.
