A Norwegian commercial spark or kicksled (red uprights) and one made from memory by Ed Gunderson in Creswell, Oregon. The commercial spark has powder coated steel uprights and rails. It also has foot rests welded to the rails and the front bumper wraps around like a car bumper. The sparks are about 75 inches long, 32 inches high at the hand grips, seat is about 29 inches long and width between rails 14". In museums I have seen early sparks with wood runners to which half round steel was attached. I wonder if they steer as well as the new ones? Back to spark story
