Thank you for your interest in the Jesuit Spirituality Center at St. Charles College in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.

The Jesuit Spirituality Center specializes in personally directed retreats based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. Solitude and silence are important aspects of these retreats. Retreats may range from 3 days, 5 days, or 8 days, to a full month.  Costs vary according to the length of the retreat.

Each retreatant receives one-on-one attention from an experienced retreat director, so that the retreat is tailored to the needs of the individual.

The Center also hosts special retreats featuring nationally known speakers and writers on a number of weekends during the year.

The Center is located in south central Louisiana, Cajun country, near Lafayette, Louisiana.  It has spacious grounds with beautiful oak trees and pines with paths for walking and bicycling. There is a swimming pool available during the summer.

This Roman Catholic Jesuit retreat center welcomes people of all faiths.

The newly-renovated facilities of the Center provide 33 retreatant rooms. Each room has a full bath, a new bed, and an individual control for either cooling or heating as desired. The whole building now has a central air system. A bright, airy lounge area for retreatants is on the third-floor central section; that area also has a separate beverage-snack room for retreatants. A new, spacious elevator is available in the center of the building. New electrical wiring and plumbing, as well as fire alarms and overhead sprinklers were installed. The original wood floors have been restored in most areas, and the corridors are well-lighted and bright. A separate dining room for retreatants provides a quiet atmosphere.

Saint Charles College now houses three separate "communities." The retreatants are housed on most of the third floor. About 20 elderly and infirm Jesuits occupy the three floors of the East Wing of the building in an assisted-living setting. The Jesuits on staff and the Novices occupy the remainder of the building.
