Western Larch is in Montana, it’s also in southeastern British Columbia, south to Montana and Oregon. The needles are 2.5-4 CM long. The usual colors are light green and they turn yellow in autumn before falling. The bark is reddish brown. The cones are also 2.5-4 CM long. They can grow from 80-200 ft. or even 300 ft tall. |
Lodge
Pole can get up to 17 feet tall in 20 years. They have good thermal cover
for animals. Lodge Pole has big thick pine needles not like the Western
Larch. Lodge Pole also has very long needles not like many other trees with
very short needles. Lodge Pole is used in a lot construction because they
are heavy. |
Douglas
Firs are mostly rounded at the top and are very flexible. The most common
colors for Douglas Firs are dark yellow and bluish green. The bark color
is reddish and brown and it is sometimes hairy. The Douglas Fir has big
thick needles. Some of the other trees don’t have as thick of needles.
The habitat is in Central British Columbia, South Pacific Coast, and The
Rocky Mountains to Arizona. |
Spirea
X Bumalda Froebelii is in Montana and mostly in the Rocky mountains. Description:
Flat, bright pink flower, with purple tips on foliage in spring. It is very
similar to Anthony Waterer except for the height. It grows up to 80 cm.
It grows best in full and partial sun. An estimated 2,000 Froebeliis. |

Harebell is a purple kind of plant that is scattered all over Montana. The seasons for Harebell are June through September. You will usually find them on light wooded slopes. You can also find these in California, Texas, and New Mexico. Harebell can get up to 40 CM. high. Harebell is also known as Scotch Bluebell or Lady’s Thimble. |
Black Cottonwood trees grow in Arkansas, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington, British Colombia, Yukon Territory, and Mexico. The scientific name for Black Cottonwood is Populas Trichocarpa. It’s one of the largest and the most massive trees in North America. Black Cottonwood can grow up to 50 meters long and the leaves can grow up to 12 cm. long. It could contain pulpwood in up to ten to fifteen years. |
