Sir Edmund Hillary

Sir Edmund Hillary was the first to climb Mount Everest. Before he climbed Mount Everest he climbed 11 peaks over 20,000 feet high. He was born on May 20, 1919. Sir Hillary was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He climbed over many glaciers with Tenzing. He lost people going to the top. When Hillary got to the top he buried some stuff like suckers, a plastic cat and a flag. When he got down he was a great hero. Tenzing was Hillary's companion beside him.
Tenzing Norgay was also the first to climb Mount Everest. Tenzing stood beside Hillary. He was born on May 9, 1914. He also put some stuff at the top like a few suckers and his wooden cane. They both worked together. They both helped each other get across glaciers. Hillary and Tenzing were both famous and were great legends.
