| The meaning of Portugal's flag is clear; it means the Goshawk,
even though there are none of these birds around. The bird was mistaken
for the local buzzards. The blue and white is from the old Portuguese flag.
The nine stars on the flag stand for nine islands. Some of the fish they catch there are, blue and white tuna, marlin, and maybe swordfish. |
