The War of the School

“Aaah! What! The first day of school is in a week!” Travis yelled from his house next door to Josiah’s house.

“No way!” Josiah yelled back.

“Yes way!” Travis yelled over.

“Just a second I’ll be right over,” Josiah says. Josiah ran out his door over to Travis’s house.

“Now what did you say again?” Josiah asked Travis when he got there.

“I said,” Travis says while walking out the door,”that the first day of school is in a week,” he answers.

“Get your bike and head on over to the mall,” Josiah says to Travis.“I’ll meet you there,” he says. Josiah runs back to his house and gets his bike, then heads on over to the mall.

A little while later Josiah came screeching in to the mall parking lot where Travis was sitting there waiting for him. Screech! Josiah’s bike came to an ear-breaking stop.

“C’mon, lets go to the fort,” Josiah says to Travis. Then they both rode to the left of the mall down a steep rocky hill. When they got to the bottom they went to the left of a green bush and hid their bikes behind it. Then they went behind a pile of huge boulders to a small size boulder. Travis and Josiah then pushed the boulder to the side revealing a long dark narrow tunnel with blue carpet on the floor.

When they got in Josiah brought the boulder back into place, making the tunnel pitch black. Travis then clapped twice and lights turned on leading down the tunnel. Josiah and Travis then headed down the tunnel.

A little while later they came to a tall black ladder, which they climbed up. At the top Travis and Josiah stepped into a large room with blue carpet. From where they were standing there was a red carpet that headed to the right over to a black door with a security keypad to the left on the wall.

Josiah and Travis then walked down the red carpet to the door. Travis then typed in a code and the door unlocked. Travis then opened the door to a big brown room, where the other fifth graders are having a meeting.

Freeman (one of the boy fifth graders) says, “Why don’t we just set back time.”

“No” says Shane (the captain of the fifth graders), “Too much work.” he says.

“Then what do suppose we do?” says Kimi (a girl fifth grader).

“Oh, I didn’t see you guys there,” Shane says to Travis and Josiah.

“What is this meeting about?” asks Josiah.

“It’s about no school,” Answers Shane.

“Oh… so you know,” Says Travis.

“Yep,” Says Chris (another boy fifth grader)

“What do you want to do?” asks Josiah.

“I say we set back time!” yells Freeman.

“No!” yells Shane, “too much work!” he says.

“What do you suppose we do Josiah?” asks Chris.

“Uuum… how about battle?” asks Josiah.

“W e have no troops,” says Chris.

“Not necessarily,” says Travis. Travis pulls out hydraulic phone (a special phone with a screen) and dials a number. Beep, boop, beep, beep, beep, boop, boop.

“Hello?” says a voice on the phone, and then a picture comes into view of a short blonde haired kid.

“Hey, Gus,” says Travis

“Oh, hi,” says the blonde haired kid to Travis. “What you want?” asks the kid.

“We need troops,” says Travis to Gus (the blonde haired kid).

“Sure, how many?” Gus asks

“About 800,” says Travis to Gus.

“Sure, I’ll be right over,” says Gus to Travis.

“I’m at the fort,” says Travis to Gus.

“OK, I’ll be right over,” says Gus to Travis.

A while later Gus shows up with 800 troops of kindergartners at the front boulder.

“What’s the matter?” asks Gus to Travis when he got to the front boulder where Travis was waiting. “Why do you need the troops?” he asks

“We need them for war,” answers Travis.

“War!” yells Gus. “You better count me in on this,” he says to Travis. Suddenly a stomping noise came from behind the pile of boulders.

“No way these little puny things are gunna win da battle,” says Dustin (another boy fifth grader).

“They may be small but they’re trained for battle,” says Gus to Dustin.

“These are highly trained kindergartners, Dustin,” Travis says.

“Ya right,” says Dustin. Then he walks back behind the boulders.

“All right kindergartners, set up your tents!” Travis yells. Gus and Travis then go back inside.

“Hi,” says Gus when Travis and him walk into the meeting room.” So what’s the plan?” he asks.

“We split your troops up into groups of 100,” answers Josiah.

“Then Josiah, Travis, you, me, Freeman, Cameron, Alyssa, and Shane will each take a group,” Kimi says.

“Josiah, Travis, you, and me will take the shortcut to behind the school, and the others to the tunnel under the school," says Shane.

“Wait a minute, we’re attacking the school?” asks Gus.

“Yep,” answers Josiah.

“Why?” asks Gus?

“We don’t want school,” answers Alyssa (another girl fifth grader)

“Oh," says Gus.

“All right from under the school you guys will dig up into the school’s computer lab. From there you guys will hack into the school’s computers and have the teacher’s flag go down.” Shane says, “We will be waiting outside getting under the school’s fence.” He says,” When the flag goes down, Josiah’s and Travis’s groups should be on school property," Shane said.

“Josiah’s group will climb to the top of the school with our flag and put it up," said Kimi.

"Travis' group and the other will stand guard," said Shane.

"All right, tomorrow we attack," said Cameron.

"Tonight we sleep," said Travis.

Everybody then got out their sleeping bags and went to bed except Josiah and Travis who went outside.

Josiah and Travis were walking by the mall talking about the plan when they heard a rattling sound in the bushes. The both of them looked over at the bushes to see a teacher, Mrs. Truant running back to the school.

“Hey!” Travis yells,” Come back here!” Travis and Josiah run after her but she gets away.

“Oh, no,” Josiah says out of breath,” They now know our plan.”

“Let's head back," says Travis,” Maybe that’s not what she was doing." They both head back to the fort for a good night's sleep.

Early the next morning at the fort Josiah hears yelling coming from the outside. Quickly he looks over to see that Travis isn’t in his sleeping bag across the room, in fact nobody was there. Quickly Josiah jumps out of bed and runs over to the ladder and slides down it. Then he runs down the hall to see that the boulder is already pushed to the side. So he runs outside to see the kindergartners out of their tents screaming to defend the fort while there are millions of teachers swinging down from trees. Josiah sees Travis and all the other sixth graders fighting it out. Suddenly Josiah feels a sharp pain in the back of his head and then blacks out.

When Josiah awoke he was still at the fort with nobody else as he thought. Josiah then jumped up on to his feet and turned around to see Travis and Cameron with their troops looking at him.

“We were ambushed," said Travis.

“No chance," said Cameron.

“Where are the others?” asked Josiah.

“Oh, they were taken away," answers Cameron.

“My troops too?” asked Josiah.

“Oh, they’re right behind the fort," answers Travis

“Men march forward!” Josiah yells. Suddenly 100 troops come marching out from behind the fort.

“What are we going to do?” asks Travis,” We have no plan.

“Let's stick to the first plan,” answers Josiah.

“We don’t have enough troops," says Travis.

“I don’t know about you guys but I’m sticking to it," says Josiah.

“Fine!” says Travis and Cameron at the same time.

“Good," says Josiah. "Cameron, you can tap into the computers with your group, and Travis, you can come with me.”

“Ready, break!” everyone says at the same time.

A little while later Josiah and Travis with their groups were off towards the school.

Cameron was under the computer room telling his troops to dig harder up. A while later Travis and Josiah were at the school hiding. The security was tougher than ever. There were eight boy teachers along the front fence, two girl teachers in front of the school entrance, twenty boy teachers along the whole actual school walls, eight-hundred boy teachers marching and circling the school, ten boy teachers on each side of the fence, eighty girl teachers guarding the back fence, and they were all armed with rulers!

“Our troops are only armed with sticks!” Travis says.

“That’s not all the defense, there are also two-hundred boy teachers on the roof of the school all armed with tacks!” Josiah yelled.

Josiah and Travis immediately told their troops to start digging.

“We'll take the fire exit to the top of the school from inside,” Josiah says.

A little while later Travis and Josiah’s armies were under the boy’s bathroom when they get a call on Josiah’s cell-phone. A voice came up on the phone says, “I’m now in the computer room.”

“Don’t hack in yet.” Josiah says. Josiah and Travis get up into the boy’s bathroom. They tell 2 troops to check the bathroom out. A few minutes later they came back with a teacher hostage.

“Good,” Josiah says. Then they all piled into the room, and five troops open the door and check around. The kindergartners closed the door and said, “There are six girl teachers guarding the stairs and two guarding the front door.”

“Tacks,” Josiah says. Travis then gives Josiah a box of tacks. Josiah then opens the door and throws a tack at a teacher by the stairs, and quickly shuts the door. The teachers suddenly yell, ”Kids!” and then they all run down the hallway past the bathroom to look for the kids.

“All right, you go wait by the doors and be ready for battle,” Josiah says to Travis, “I will go up to the roof and put up our flag.”

“How will you battle the teachers on the top of the roof?” asks Travis.

“My group and I will spread out up there and pop up and capture the teachers up there with out a sound," says Josiah,” Once I capture them I’ll radio to Cameron to take down the teachers flag, and when the flag goes down I’ll put up our flag then radio you to bust out, and radio Cameron to free all the men that were captured," he says.

After the conversation they were off. Josiah ran up the stairs with his group to the top and Travis ran over to the front door with his group. On the roof Josiah’s group spread out. Josiah then whistled and all his men popped up and captured every teacher without a sound. After that he radioed Cameron to put the teachers' flag down. The flag went down in a second and Josiah was over putting up their flag in a second too.

“All right Cameron go and save the other men of ours,” Josiah says radioing Cameron on the Hydraulic-Phone. Then he radioed Travis to bust out.

“Copy,” answers Travis. In a second Travis’s group was bursting out and attacking and Josiah’s group was swinging down from the school roof throwing tacks at the teachers.

A while later the teachers surrendered when Cameron came out with 500 troops. In the battle only a few of the kids men were injured.

“Finally,” Josiah says.

“It’s all over,” all the 6th graders say at once. Just after they said that Josiah got a call on his phone and he answered it. A voice on the phone then said,” The battle is not over yet.” Dun, dun, dun, dun, dunt.
