| Accra is slightly smaller than Oregon. The climate is tropical, warm and comparatively dry along the southeastern coast. It is hot and humid in the southwest, and hot and dry in the north. Some natural resources are gold, timber, industrial diamonds, bauxite, manganese, fish, rubber and hypropower. The population of Ghana is 20,467,747 people. The percentages of religions are 21% indigenous beliefs, 16% Muslim and 63% Christians. Ghana won its independence from the UK on March 6, 1957. |
