On October 1973, in Kasuga Japan, the best baseball player ever was born. His father, Nobuyuki Suzuki, was a tool manufacture. His father stuck a full size bat and glove in his hands at age three; they played after school till dark. Ichiro later joined a baseball club that his father later became manager of.

Nobuyuki had his son hitting off 80mph pitching machines before high school. He graduated from Akio Dia Median High School in 1991 and was drafted by Orix Blue Wave. One year later he made his debut of Orix Blue, hitting .253 in 40 games. With 95 plate appearances, 24 hits, 5 doubles and no home runs. He never puts Suzuki on any of his jerseys because it is a very common name in Japan.

His wife (Yumiko Fukushima) was a sports caster in Japan. She later moved to Seattle to be with him while spring training with the Mariners.

In 1996 he was battling for his third Golden Glove award and named M.V.P. In May of 2001 Suzuki won rookie of the year. One year later Ichiro Suzuki completed the season with 208 hits, 111 runs, 27 doubles, and stole 31 bases.

Part of what makes him a strong player is his Japanese heritage. The Japanese have a strong tendency to suppress their own feelings. That’s the Japanese character. They get angry but don’t throw bats or break things…like Bret Boone. The Japanese are quiet fans because they are very shy people.
