Day one: I went down to my neighbor’s
house, and took my horse Boomer with me; I gave Bill, my neighbor, $300.00
to get her bred to his paint horse named Red. Bill has a very big fence
to keep Red on his property. Bill takes Red to shows a lot. Day Two: My dad and mom drove me to his
house to check on her. She was doing fine. I kept asking my mom when
Boomer was going to come home. She said two more days. Day Three: The next afternoon, we checked
on her again. She missed us and we missed her too. It was one more day,
then she would be home for good. My brother’s horse missed her
so much. Day Four: My dad, brother, and I went
down to Bill’s house and brought her home. We let her out in the
field with our other horses. When we brought her home she bit my brother
on the hand. She was so happy to be home. On June 21st,a very windy day, my mom
and I left to go to my grandma’s house .I did not want to go,
but my mom said I had to. I had a feeling Boomer was going to have a
baby. That night my dad called from my house and when I talked to him
on the phone. He said Boomer had a baby, it `s a girl. I was so happy
I broke out in tears. I named her Buttermilk after a famous movie STARS
horses name. June 23, she started coming up to me. She did not like
any one else. Boomer put her ears back at my dad! She did not put her
ears back at me. June 27, She whinnied for the first time
because the baby pigs squealed. June 28, She galloped and reared up on her mom’s back. Boomer bit her. She was just playing! Her favorite spots to get rubbed are her main line and rump. I can make Buttermilk spin in circles. I can pick her feet up and pick them with the pick. She will be my show horse. She can do all kinds of things now that she is older. She is shedding her baby hair and she is turning to a Red Rhone, she is beautiful; I hope soon to get the halter on her and get her halter broke. I am going to get a lot of horse stuff for her.
