Miscellaneous Stereographoscopes

 

Stereographoscopes were produced in a variety of styles. A few are shown below. The first example was made by H.C. White and sold by White and Sears. These will be found in a variety of styles.

 

 

These two examples were made by Lewis and sold by H.T. Anthony.

 

 

This example is by an unknown maker and will be found with a paper or wood hood. It is cumbersome and easily damaged.

 

This model was produced by H. C. White and sold by them as well as by Sears. It was very popular and produced in quantity. The eye pieces contain prismatic lenses that are rotated to view stereoviews or when rotated the other way for viewing regular photo's or postcards. There are several different styles and sizes, various woods and either wood, brass or nickel eye cups.

 

 

Several styles of this small stereographoscope were produced in the 1870's to 1890's. They are found in various sizes and woods. The magnifying glass size varies. Most were poorly made.
