Toys & Small Viewers
There were a few small viewers made in early 1900 and ending about 1936. Most were for souvenirs or made simply for children. First on the left is the Wonder Scope which was produced specifically for the 1933 Worlds Fair in Chicago. Some of these views are marked Tru-Vue. Center is the Little Journeys, made in 1936 by Stereo Album Company of Chambersburg, Pa. It came with a booklet of 10 views bound by string ties in each top corner. The entire viewer and views stored in the box and the eye pieces could be adjusted. Next is a another toy viewer with 50 animal views by the Metropolitan Syndicated Press about 1905. At the bottom left is the Camerascope with 24 Sunbeam Cards. It was made in England in the 1920's and had a patent #173849. At the bottom right are two Imperial viewers, one shown open and the other folded for storage. It may have been considered a toy depending on the views. A number of views are of museums and nudes for the adults. The Imperial was produced in Germany but had world wide sales. In the US it cited patent #720849, February 17, 1903
