Engine:
This is a late 1969 BMW 2002 that
was originally titled as a 1970. I bought the car in 1994. In the
spring of 1999 I decided to completely redo the car. After a great deal of
work the car is totally rust free and the following modifications were made.
JE aluminum forged pistons with Total Seal rings
TEP head with S/S valves
TEP header with S/S pipes and S/S exhaust
MSD Ignition with Pertronics mag' pickup
45 DCOE Webers with S/S Cold Air Intake, S/S hard fuel lines and S/S braided flex lines
Custom fabricated S/S strut brace
5 speed transmission
Urethane motor and transmission mounts
3 core radiator
Suspension/Brakes/Driveline:
Bilstein Sport Shocks
H&R springs
Urethane bushings all around
Ireland Engineering front and rear sway bars
Adjustable front castor and camber
15" Panasports (15x6x29mm) with Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires (195/50/15)
Front big brakes and rear disc brakes
5 speed transmission and 3.91:1 LSD
Interior/Exterior:
320is Recaros with rear seat
upholstered to match
Schroth 4 point harness with S/S harness bar
Momo Competition steering wheel
VDO gauges - oil temp., oil press., voltage
Halmeter O2 meter
Blaubunkt stereo and amp
New carpet and black coco-mats

Cross:
I've been attempting to put the
little monster to some use and started auto crossing with the Ozark's Mountain
Region SCCA chapter. It's a lot of fun trying different adjustments on the
car. I'm not the fastest guy out there but I do enjoy working on my
driving and I get a lot of compliments on the looks. Albeit the
competition is a little thin in FSP, I did manage to win the FSP class in 2004.
