Learn to Fly

Lessons begin with an introductory tandem flight. This will allow you to experience the launch, altitude, approach and landing.  If conditions allow, your instructor may  let you take control of the glider to practice turns and speed control.

Below is a basic outline of our training course.

The components of learning:

Introductory Tandem Flight

Meet us at a pre-arranged site to take your first tandem flight and experience hang gliding. If conditions permit, the instructor may allow you to perform turns and speed control with the glider.

Ground School

Understanding the basics of flight, theory, the effects of weather on flying,  parts of the glider, etc..

Training Hill

Learning to launch and land.

Tandem Training Flight

Launching at a high altitude location, learning to turn the glider, practice speed control, set up the landing approach and landing the glider.

High Altitude Solo Flight

Launching solo with radio instruction.

Notes:

During instruction all equipment is provided.
