Long
Night's Journey
Set in 1980, the beginning of the Reagan era's
backlash against feminism, gay rights, and other liberal
movements. Lesbians Joan and Grace must deal with Joan's
straight Aunt Leah when she comes to them as a refugee from
her husband.
One act. 4 parts for women.
One set.
Balancing
Act at the Equinox
Sequel to Long Night's Journey.
The women's community deals with Leah's crisis and in the
process find themselves embroiled in crises of their own.
Two acts. 10 parts for women
plus crowd scene of both genders, all ages.
Flexible set with three areas.
Libra
In this love story between a younger man and
older woman, her secrets are a threat to his desire for
an ideal relationship. Set in 2000 at sister communities
Libra and Capricorn. Capricorn is the community formed at
the end of Balancing Act at the Equinox. Both
communities are in the novel Selects Her Own.
Three acts. 4 parts for women,
3 parts for men.
One fixed set and one flexible set screened so visible only
when lighted.
Orange
Jumpsuit in Class
Suitable for performance in a classroom or
in your living room by family and friends. All characters
may be played by either male or female. No set or costumes
necessary, though an orange jumpsuit or orange crepe-paper
coveralls would be good. One poster needed for the wall.
Any number of players, though only a few have speaking parts--unless
you wish to ad lib or write your own additions! Substitute
your own names for some of the characters if you wish.
