George Waite and Mary Haynes
George
Waite was
born about 1767 in Culpeper, Virginia to John and Keziah Waite. He married Mary Haynes on February 6, 1787 in Culpeper, Virginia. He moved to Botetourt County Virginia with his wife’s relatives by
1798. He died there between July
December of 1798 according to the dates of his will and his estate settlements.
His will is listed in Botetourt County
Will Book A, 1770-1801 (Reel 20) pages 486-487 and probated December 1798, page
530 has the Inventory and Appraisal which was recorded April 1800. He is listed as George Wayt. Joseph, Jasper,
and Ben Haynes are listed as witnesses to his will.
Mary
Haynes was
born by 1770 to (I believe) Jasper Haynes of Culpeper, Virginia. She died in Botetourt County after 1817.
