Although the will of Thomas Sims, Sr. was written two years later it was common practice to divide ones inheritance before death, especially in the case of a female heir. It seems likely that if this is the same slave named Winnie or Winney that Lewis Graves and Ann Sims Graves are connected, most likely by marriage. A slave woman named Win was named in his estate sale.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><span style='font-family:"Comic Sans MS"'>Based on the foregoing it is easy to conclude that Ann Sims was the first wife of Lewis and Rebecca was the second. Additionally it is quite obvious that Rebecca was not the mother of the children or Amey S.
