Language Development Class

The following units are used in a cognitive disabilities classroom with students in grades 1-4.  The children also vary in ability level and disabilities.  The goal of the language development class is to expose children to a wide variety of language based experiences.  Throughout the class time the children are encouraged to verbalize, use complete sentences, maintain eye contact, socialize with peers, sit with the group, and a wide variety of other objectives.  The objectives are different for each student and based on their individual educational plan.

Browse through the units.  Many of the activities have been modified from early childhood curriculum materials.  Many of the ideas are originals!  As you can see the theme units are a work in progress.  I will be adding more units as time allows.  Thanks for taking the time look around!
