A little aside for teachers: I usually lead kids to their own discovery of these and
other sets of commands to draw shapes, but if you have a version of LOGO handy, you can
try the above commands for yourself. If you make a mistake just erase the screen and
start over. How do you erase? Most versions of LOGO use either CG or CS. CG means clear
graphics; CS means clear screen. You may also want to try changing the numbers after
forward to draw squares and rectangles of different sizes.

If the students want to move the turtle without drawing, they first type the
command "penup" (which is abbreviated "PU.") Later, when the turtle is where
they want it to be, they type "pendown" (or "PD.") Another very useful command
is "penerase" (or "PE") which turns the pen upside down so that it drags the
eraser and rubs out any line it drags across.
