Process:
1.  I will put you in a group of four students.  As a group, you will need to determine roles for the members of your group.  You and your team must work together cooperatively to successfully meet the learning objectives for this project.  You will sink or swim together as a group during this web quest project.  There are roles that first must be established within your group.  The roles are:
Role
Responsibilities
Historian / Photographic Editor
Locating and evaluating resources necessary to complete the timeline of events. (Finding and saving images of the Dust Bowl from the FSA - OWI )
Audio Technician
Locating audio file from the Library of Congress and Woody Guthries Dustbowl Ballads which will be background msuic and information for your interview
Creative Writer
Drafting, editing, proofreading the text of your group's interview and video tape.
Actors and Technical Crew
(All members of the group)
Performing, producing, and videoedting the interview using I-Movie.

The Historian and Photographic editor will work closely together as they find the information and images to be used on your group's timeline.  These group members will use Inspiration software to create the timeline/graphic organizer of important Dust Bowl era events.

2. Using the web sites included on the resources page, the Historian will need to locate information which will provide the historical context of your plot.
3.  Using the web sites provided at the resources page, your Photographic Editor will need to locate and save pictures taken by the Farm Security Administration - Office of War Information Collection for use on your group's timeline/graphic organizer and I-Movie interview.

The Audio Technician and Creative Writer will work closely together to create the interview script for your group's video tape.

4.  Using the web sites included at the resources page, your Audio Technician will need to locate appropriate sound files from the Library of Congress American Memories Collection for use in your group's interview.  Make sure you write down each of the URLs for the sound files you are likely to use.
5  As a group, you will draft, revise, edit and proofread a historical fiction documentary of the life of a migrant worker during the Dust Bowl. Your historical fiction will be presented with your iMOVIE presentation and your timeline/graphic organizer of historical events.

6.  As a group you will revise, edit, practice, perform and videotape your interview (keep the length around 2 minutes; longer interviews will be more difficult to edit using I-Movie.  Therefore, ask only directed and important questions.

7.  As a group, use I-Movie software to edit your movie.  Be sure to include appropriate music and images from the Dust Bowl.
8.  Debut your group's video tape and timeline by the project due date.
