Impact on Global Consciousness
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will
explore the history of our attitudes toward the natural world to better understand
how the great thinkers like Thoreau, Muir, Leopold and Carson have contributed
to prevailing attitudes about the importance of sustainability and preserving
the environment.
This course includes a self-directed, hands-on
research assignment of an environmentally significant location in your area and
integration of all course work into teaching units. Readings
are online or at libraries.
This
Guided Independent Study class is designed for active learners of all
grade levels who like to learn
visually and wish to improve their research and presentation skills.
