URBAN, George - Saturday Feb 13, 1892
George Urban, a prominent German resident
of Norwalk, who died Saturday, was a very eccentric man. He was always a hard
working man and made his wife and children work like slaves. He was 81 years
old and lived on a farm near that town for over forty years. He hoarded up his
earnings and was worth $100,000 at the time of his death. The man was always in
mortal fear lest someone would rob him, and hid his cash in different places
around his house. {Note $100,000 in today’s dollars would be about $1.9
million}
