In 1985 the First Families of Lorain County was organized to identify and to celebrate the early pioneers who settled in our county prior to 1851.

Here is a list of the pioneers and inductees that have been proven to date.

To become a member of the First Families of Lorain County,
you must prove that your ancestor lived in Lorain County prior to 1 Jan 1851.
Membership in Lorain County Chapter of OGS for the current year is a prerequisite for applying for First Families of Lorain County. In addition, a  $25.00 application fee is required. 

All applications and documentation must be in paper format only.  No CD's of application or
documentation will be permitted except as a back-up file. Application deadline is June 1st.
