  April 14 –       “Your Ancestor In The Military” - Brent Morgan's program is a look at web sites on the internet covering major wars and military conflicts
                              of our country starting with King Philips's War and ending with the War on Terrorism.  Helpful hints in finding information on the wars
                              in which our ancestors participated.
                             

The Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is pleased to  welcome veteran genealogist Brent Morgan presenting "Your Ancestor in the
Military" on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the North Ridgeville Public Library, 35700 Bainbridge Rd., North Ridgeville.
Social time at 6:30 pm; the program and a general business meeting at 7:00 pm.

Brent Morgan serves as the Chair of the Society of Civil War Families of Ohio, as the Registrar of the Son's of the American Revolution, Richmond, Virginia
Chapter, and formerly served as the Genealogist for the Western Reserve Society Son's of the American Revolution.
His program, "Your Ancestor in the Military" will review web sites on the Internet that address major wars and military conflicts of our country starting
with King Philip's War and ending with the War on Terrorism. Brent will offer helpful hints in finding information on the wars in which or ancestors
participated.   The public is invited to attend this free program.

  May 12         Deborah A. Abbott, Ph.D. - Talking to your Ancestor's Family, Friends & Neighbors: Cluster Genealogy.  New techniques and
                        strategies using non-direct family sources to locate your family members.


  June 4    –         "Indian Sites in Lorain County"Matthew W. Nahorn, Director/Curator New Indian Ridge Museum Historic Shupe Homestead & Wildlife Preserve.

  July 14    –        Annual Picnic – Duck Pond, Lorain County Metro Parks, Carlisle Reservation  at 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange, Ohio 44050
                              Bring a side dish to share.  Picnic with The Wellington Genealogical Group and The Black River Genealogical Group.

  August 11     “ Passenger Lists and Naturalization” - Sandy Mailitz, genealogy specialist at the Chardon Public Library.

  Sept 8 -            "Genetic Genealogy: Using DNA to find Your Ancestors" Dr. James Freed, retired professor of zoology at Ohio Wesleyan University, past President of
                              Delaware County Chapter - OGS.  Program will emphasize paternal Y chromosome DNA studies and maternal Myochondrial DNA studies and starting ones
                              own surname DNA study.
