| I have a wide variety of interests. When I am not sitting out on the deck reading or listening to the blues I am often out exploring. I just jump in "ol' Paint" and see what interesting photos I can take of the local scenery and wildlife. |
| Just down the road from our place I came across this brunt out tree, most likely the remains after a lightning strike. |

This is the road to Strawberry Lake and is a favorite walking road for me. |
| I often ride "ol' Paint" to the Strawberry Lake Trailhead or one of the other trails along the way and hike those when the weather is warm. |  |
| A bit farther is the road to Jewel Basin Hiking area. It's beautiful drive to the trailhead, though the road is often jarring at best. Jewel Basin Road offers many hiking trails along the way |

| There are one or two nice overlooks on the way. Here we overlook Echo Lake in the foreground and Flathead Lake in the background. |  |
| Another road to hike or ride "ol' Paint" up is Peters Ridge Road. |
| On one such drive we came across this young buck. He was a bit spooked by "ol' Paint", but we gave him space until he found a suitable place to go on into the woods. |
| Here is another scenic area just a short drive from our place. The Swan River meandering through Ferndale. |
| When I am not pointing a camera at something I am often honing my skills with my Remmington 1858 New Army Replica, converted to 45 caliber. |  |
