HISTORY

The Rotary Club of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, was chartered in February of 1985 to foster the ideal of service. The club is in District 6170 which is composed of 36 clubs with a membership of over 1850 Rotarians. Rotary International is governed by a president and board of directors elected from all over the world. Annually, each district elects a District Governor but each club is an autonomous group.

MEETINGS

The club meets every Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. in the Crystal Room of Good Samaritan Lodge, 121 Cortez Road just off Desoto Blvd. in Hot Springs Village.

OBJECTIVES

The club represents the objectives of Rotary through four avenues of service: club, community, vocational, and international. It is believed that Rotary's business is to improve the quality of life in each community as well as do good around the world. The scope of the club's efforts range from a Preventative Blindness effort, helping children learn English in Russia, providing an ambulance in the Dominican Republic, World literacy in China, building a preschool playground in the Village, and providing five $1,000 vocational scholarships each year.

FUND RAISERS

The major fund raising projects include a large Flea Market and an Art Auction.
