Size 8 to 14 2x long nymph hook.  I prefer a size 12 Gamakatsu Mayfly nymph hook, which has a bend in the shank of the hook.

White 6/0 or 8/0.

White Hungarian partridge

White litebrite dubbing, I also use orange for an attractor variation.

Gold bead sized to match the hook.

White Hungarian partridge wrapped to form a soft hackle type collar.

Optional:  lead wire sized to match the hook.

This is a popular fly for both sea-run cutthroat and resident coho salmon in the Puget Sound especially during winter.  It offers a representation of several marine invertibrates that serve as important food sources for trout and salmon.  I have also found this to be a great general trout pattern and especially effective for squawfish on the Washington Coast.
