Hook Thread Rib Body Tail Wing Head Notes |
Size 6 to 16 Tiemco 200R or similar Black, olive, brown or orange 8/0 Gold or copper wire (small or fine) Dubbing of a color to match the natural; tan, brown, olive, orange, black, ect. Palmered with brown hackle. Moose, elk or deer hair Elk, deer or moose hair, and optionally a few strands of pearl crystal flash and indicator yarn. Dubbing colored to match the body or in yellow or orange and grizzly hackle. This is a great attractor pattern that does a good job of representing both caddis and stoneflies. This fly in tan or olive is affective on the Yakima River during to early spring stonefly hatches. This pattern is probably the most effective in the fall when October caddis begin to show up on steams. For another variation see the Royal Stimulator. |
