My Stillwater Fly Box
Home               Fly Fishing Page              Fly Tying Page               Trout and Salmon Page
Right Side:  This side contains most of the smaller attractor and mayfly nymph patterns that use when fishing stillwaters.
(Starting at the Bottom)

Row 1:  This row contains
Tellico Nymphs with and with out bead heads from size 12 - 16.  I prefer this pattern tied with a soft hackle collar, for extra movement, and it is probably my favorite pattern to trail larger patterns such as barr's damsel or dries with.

Row 2: This row contains
Zug Bugs from size 12 - 14, with and without beadheads.

Row 3:  This row contains Copper Johns size 12 - 16 in both red and chartruse.

Row 4:  This contains
Calibaetis Quill Nymphs size 12 - 16, this is also a good pattern to use followed by a tellico.  I caught a lot of Grayling in Yellowstone on this combination.

Row 5:  This row is composed of Charlie's Callibaetis Nymph size 12 - 18.  This pattern is a bit more realistic than the quill nymph and is a better choice for picky fish.  I tie this pattern mostly in tan, but also carry tints of brown, white or ginger/ orangish.

Center:

Rows 1 -  3:  These rows contain my cronomid patterns in sizes ranging from 10 - 22.

Row 4 and 5:  These rows hold my scud imitations from size 10 - 16, I tie some with shell backs and some with out.  I also like to tie some of them with a pink mid section to imitate a female with eggs.

Left Side:  This side contains the larger patterns that I carry.

Row 1:  The row is made up of
Barr's Damsel Nymphs from size 10 - 12.

Row 2:  This row contains
Woven Dragonfly Nymphs from size 6 - 10, this pattern can be fished with a retreive that is either slow, quick or made up of tiny bursts.

Row 3:  This row contains several leech imitations, including the
Janssen's Leech, and Thin Mint Wooly Bugger.

Row 4 and 5:  This to rows are made up of
Barr's Beadhead Boufaces, in Black and Natural Brown.
