Gig Harbor Glow Fish ©
Size 6 or 8 Gamakatsu SL 11-3H or comparable hook.

White 3/0 or 6/0.

White Glow in the dark flashabou (made by Spirit River) length varies depending on the desired size of the fly.  Usually between 1 and two shank lengths behind the bend.

Several Strands of pink glow in the dark flashabou, and a few strands of gunmetal flashabou and pearl and/or silver krystal flash.  The materials should be the same length of slightly longer than the underwing.

White glow in the dark flashabou topped with about 10 to 15 strands of chartreuse flashabou.

Two coats of Lagartun AfterGlow & Fluoreascent head cement.  Then put on a size 1.5 sticker eye on each side.  Next apply a coat of Loon Salt Water Skalze hard head.

Just because the sun has gone down, that doesn't mean that fish in the Puget Sound have stopped feeding.  In fact this is quite possibly the best time for a shore bound fly fisher to target resident Chinook Salmon in the Puget Sound.  Due to an over packed school schedule I had to look outside of the day light hours to get my fishing in, so I came up with this pattern specifically for fishing during the night in the Sound.  This fly can be fished on fast or slow retrieves, and should be charged under a light every three to five casts for best results.
