Any size 2 to 8 streamer hook, I like the Daiichi 1710 hook

White 3/0 or 6/0.

Bunny strip in a color to match the body, some common colors are white, black and purple.

Cross cut rabbit strips in a color to match the tail.  It should be wrapped up the shank of the hook.

Optional conehead or beadhead sized to match the hook.

5 or 6 strands Pearl Crystal flash or Flashabou tied in front of the body.

Optional:  lead wire sized to match the hook.

This is an easy to tie pattern that works good for trout, salmon, steelhead and char.  It can also be tied in articulated versions for more movement and a larger fly.

Tying Steps (Click on Pictures for a bigger image):

Step 1:  Put the bead or cone head on the hook if you want.  Next wrap the hook shank with some lead wire.  Start the thread in front of the lead wire and do a few wraps to secure the wire than bring the thread to the bend of the hook.

Step 2:  Cut a piece of rabbit strip that is about 1 1/2 times the length of the shank.  Tie this in a the bend of the hook.

Step 3:  Tie in a piece of cross cut rabbit strip just in front of the tail.

Step 4:  Wrap the cross cut rabbit strip forward to just behind the eye, cone or bead and tie it off.  While wrapping it be sure to tease the rabbit fur out so that it faces the rear of the hook and not the front, it helps if you over lap each wrap of the bunny strip a little.  If you a not using a bead or cone head be sure to leave enough room for the head.

Step 5:  Once you have tied the bunny strip off and trimmed the excess, tie in four of five strands of cystal flash that extend just beyond the bend of the hook.  If you used a bead or cone head strip a little bunny fur off of the each strip from the previous step and dub in front of the bead or cone head.

Step 6:  Whip finish and head cement.
