This is an OLD picture. :-) That's me admiring the new paint on my '46
Ford P/U. It was taken, umm, in the 70's (like you can't tell).
Actually, it was taken early 1976 (my Mom wrote on the back of all the photos
she took, this one was dated 4/4/76!) and was a year after I'd graduated from
high school. I had a lot of fun in that old truck! It was powered by
a hopped up 292 Y-block with 312 heads, custom cam, 4-barrel manifold, Holley
650DP, and a Mallory dual-point distributor. It had custom hand-fabbed headers
by none other than Art Morrison himself. For those of you who don't know
who he is, he runs a very successful chassis and suspension business, Art Morrison Enterprises, in Fife,
Washington.
Here are a couple of shots of the engine, poor quality 24+ year old Polaroids, but they're all I have!
This is a shot of my '72 F250 4X4, taken while I was stationed in Nevada. This truck started life as 2WD and I converted it in 1985. I bought another complete '72 F250 4X4 with a rusted out body and swapped the body from my original truck onto the 4WD frame. Then I had the 2WD frame cut down and made into a nice, heavy-duty utility trailer. I still have the truck, now powered by a 429/C-6 combo that puts the old 360 to shame. I kinda wish I'd kept the 4-speed though!
