7 Anna Margaretha's obituary states that they arrived in the U.S. in 1848 and came to Lafayette in 1850. Although, this information must be considered secondhand, since Margaret Sophia was too young at the time to recall the dates on her own, the obituary is definite that they did not go directly to Lafayette.
