Benjamin H Bennett, "Descendants of Thomas Bennett, Sr (1685 - 1783)," (also called "The Bennett Family Tree"); attached to the descendency listing is a note from Ron Bennett, brother of Bernard A. Bennett, dated 6 May 1965. The note states that the line of direct descent from Thomas, Sr., to William H. Bennett, runs as follows: "Thomas Sr., Thomas Jr, Richard, Reuben Oldham, Wm. Gaston, Wm. H. Bennett." Ron Bennett notes that Perry Harvey Masons reared Dad (Wm. H. Bennett), and that Elizabeth Foote, wife of Reuben Oldham Bennett, traces a direct line to George Washington's father, Augustine Washington. She is descended from Augustine, Jr, a son of Augustine by his first wife , 1965.
