The Buick the Floors Repaired

In the fall of 2001 we decided it was time to do some major work on BOB. Two patches were needed in the front floor pans. If your going to build, build on a good foundation.

I started with the floor patches first. I removed the front and back seats and carpet. I used a small cut off wheel on an air grinder to cut out all of the rusted floor. I then purchased some steel and made replacement patches to fit. Once they were welded in I gave the floor two coats of Rustolium Red. That in its self was a big improvement.

Here are pictures of the patches. You can click on them to see the full size picture, then use your back button to return to this page

Buick have a tin cover that runs along the door sill to cover the wiring for the power seats and light in the back of the car. These were rusted beyond repair. I had a local sheet metal shop form replacements and installed them as well. They also got two coats of paint.

Here you can see the wire covers I had made. I did all four, but only show two. Again, you can click on them to see the full size picture, then use your back button to return to this page

Here are a couple shots of the completed floor repair. Click for full size then use you back button to return here.
