Our First Car Show

The week after we purchased our Buick we took it to an alignment shop in Denton TX so they could determine what was needed to rebuild the front end, suspension, and brakes. They had the car a few days and we picked it up on Saturday morning. When we picked it up the manager asked us if we were going to enter the car show in the town square that morning. We knew from going to a lot of other car shows our Buick was not a contender but we thought it would be fun anyway. Never having a car to enter before we did not know what to expect. What we got was awesome.

We pulled up to the registration desk and were warmly greeted. We spent the day meeting a lot of people that either had or knew someone that had a Buick "Just like that" earlier in their life. They enjoyed seeing it and being reminiscent about times past and sharing their experiences with us. The fact that our old Buick was helping these people to remember these times made us feel good as well. These people did not care that BOB was not perfect and needed work. I am sure they saw the car they remembered, and that made our Buick special. At that point we were hooked. We decided that bringing this experience to others was what car shows are all about, for us, and we liked it.

As the show drew to an end we decided to stay for the awards, just to see what car got what award. Try to imagine our surprise when we were awarded a trophy for "Top 15 Domestic Auto". Attached is a picture of Me, Debbie, BOB and her first award with us as care takers.
