James William McKnight b 31 My 1832 Beardsville, Illinois.
Moved with his parents to Iowa when a small boy.
At the age of 20 he was married and crossed the plains in 1852 on his
wedding trip. Clarinda Mcknight was the wife of James.
He was an early pioneer of Linn Co. Oregon.(this information from a copy
taken from the obituary that appeared in the Lebanon Or. newspaper and
printed by the Oregon Historical Society.)

several grandchildren living.
The sons were F.E., George W., Ex county Judge D. B. McKnight, and

Portland.

I found his grave in Sandridge Cemetery, off the Brownsville Rd.
between Lebanon Oregon and Brownsville Rd.
There are several McKnights buried there, including George McKnight b 1856 d

and his wife Helen b 1866 d 1945.
I took a picture of the old tombstone of James William McKnight.
