Obituary - Trudy Do McKnight
Trudy Jo McKnight, 37, died October 3, 1984 at her home in Braymer. She was the daughter of Herma (Murray) McKnight and the late Lawrence McKnight. She was born in Braymer on November 29, 1946.
She graduated from the Braymer High School in 1946 (error). Her entire life was spent in Braymer. She was a member of the Braymer Christian Church and taught a Sunday School Class for a number of years.
She is survived by her mother, Herma McKnight, of the home; two brothers, Mickey McKnight, Huntsville, Alabama, and Jimmie McKnight, Herndon, Virginia, four sisters, Barbara Wetzel, Sterling, Virginia, Judy Vanderpool, Collinsville, Illinois, Patsy Peters, Dawn, and Brenda Regas, Sewickley, Pennsylvania, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 6, at 10 a.m. at the Christian Church conduced by Maurice Neely.
Roger and Karen Murray sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace", accompanied by Tammy McBee, organist and Jackie Taylor pianist.
Pallbearers were Maurice Own, Paul Dunwoodie, bob Phillips, Marshall Phillips, Emerson Bliss and Darrin Hicks.
Burial was in the Braymer Evergreen Cemetery, under direction of Pitts Funeral Home. Jim McKnight
Death came in the early hours of
Easter morning to release Mrs. Russell Gibson from long months
of illness. Kate first suffered light strokes about a year ago.
She was stricken again in October so severely that she had been
bedfast for the past six months. From the very first everything
possible was done for her. She was taken to different hospitals
in the hope that something might be found that would help. A different
home was bought and moved to in order to have every convenience
for her care, and the most efficient ladies to be had assisted
through her long illness. Her husband gave her devoted and constant
attention. The crowd that overflowed the church at her last rites
and the mass of beautiful flowers attested to the love for her
of many.
Katy Freda Gibson daughter of the late Samuel and Rosa Gorty McKnight
was born November 22, 1903 in Custer County Oklahoma, and passed
away in her home in Braymer, Missouri, Sunday April 17, 1960 at
2:20 a. m. On April 16, 1924 she was united in marriage to Russell
Gibson, and to this union was born one son R. Lee who only lived
to the tender age of 9 months. Besides her parents and son she
was preceded in death by one brother Raymond; and one sister Elsa.
Surviving are the husband Russell of the home three brothers Glenn
McKnight of Lamar Colorado and Curtis and Lawrence McKnight of
Braymer, four sisters Mrs. Lee McBee and Mrs. Virgil Phillips
both of Braymer; Mrs. Earl Crandell of Kansas City and Mrs. Don
Swails of St. Joseph; one aunt, Mrs. Omar Phillips, several nieces
and nephews, and a host of friends. Mrs. Gibson was a member of
the Braymer Methodist church The Order of The Eastern Star and
the Braymer Alumni Association.
She was a devoted and loving wife, with a deep and sincere love
for little children. Her wonderful personality lifted her into
a place of highest respect from all who knew her. She will be
sadly missed by her many friends, neighbors and relatives.
Funeral services were held , Tuesday at 1:30 PM. from the Methodist
church Rev. Hugo Rolens, pastor officiating. A duet of Mrs. Ramond
Amery and Mrs- Charles Rathburn sang two selections at the memorial
services "Face to Falce and "Beyond The Sunset"
accompanied by Mrs. John Mohler. Casket bearers were nephews of
Mrs. Gibson.
The Eastern Star Lodge of Braymer rendered their burial ritual
at the graveside in Highland Cemetery at Hamilton, Mo. and interment
was under the Direction of the Michael Funeral Home. Among the
out of town relatives and friends here to attend memorial services
for Mrs. Gibson were, Mr. and MrS. Earl Crandall and daughter
Sue, Mr and Mrs. Raymond Gibson and son Jerry, Mrs. Coleen Crosswhite
and Mr and Mrs. Lowell Gibson, of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. DonaId
Swailes, and daughter Marjorie, of St Joseph; Mrs. Jim Dement,
Muscatine, Iowa; clarence Bales, Mrs. W. H. Bales, Mrs. Alma Humphey,
Custer, Okla I Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bennett, Kingston; Mr and Mrs.

Obituary Opal G. Crandall
Opal G. Crandall 81, Owasso, Oklahoma, formerly of Kansas City, died November 28, 1991, at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Custer, Oklahoma and lived in Braymer, Mo., and Kansas City before moving to Lakeland, Florida in 1988. She moved to Owasso in 1990. Mrs. Crandall worked in food service for the North Kansas City School District, retiring in 1975. She was a charter member of the Northgate Baptist Church. Her husband, Earl S. Crandall, died in 1984. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Caudle, Owasso: a brother Curtis McKnight, Braymer: a sister, Marguerite Swails, St. Joseph; and two grandchildren. Services will be a 11 A.M. Monday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; grave side services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or the church's memorial fund.

Opal (McKnight) Crandall
Opal (McKight) Crandall, 81, of Owasso, Ok, died Thursday, November 28, 1991, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
Mrs Crandall was the daughter of Samuel H. and Rosa McKnight. She was born in Custer, OK. She was formerly of Kansas City MO, and retired in 1975 from the North Kansas City School Distinct Food Service. She was a charter member of the Northgate Baptist Church in Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Sue Caudle, son-in-law, Bill Caudle, and two granddaughters, Sara and Joanna, all of Owasso; a brother, Curtis McKnight, Braymer, Mo; a sister, Marguerite Swails, St. Joseph, MO, and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Dec. 2 at McGilley Antioch Chapel in Kansas
City with a grave side service at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer.Jim McKnight
