It is the goal of
Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc. to offer a program of hockey that will provide
opportunities for girls to learn skills, good sportsmanship, the importance of
teamwork and motivation necessary for a young girls maturity. All athletes
are constantly before the public and their conduct not only influences future
participants, but also arouses public scrutiny of their moral habits and those
of the Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc. The success of Coulee Region Girls
Hockey, Inc. is determined by YOU the athlete and PARENTS, along with the help
and cooperation of coaches and Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc.
All team players shall have equal ice time during practice,
games and tournaments. Playing time shall be divided as equitably as possible
by the coach. Girls may have their playing time reduced if they don't
faithfully attend practices.
Girls are expected to play within their own age group as
defined by USA Hockey. It is recommended that teams consist of 11 to 15 skaters
to assure maximum playing time for each skater. If multiple teams in a given
age group are needed to maintain recommended team size, the teams will be
divided by age of the skater. When possible, grade level in school will also be
taken into account when dividing teams. When moving skaters to an older team
level, the skater, the skaters parents, the coaches of the affected teams and
the board of directors must all approve the move. Skaters who have not
registered when team rosters are set will be assigned to a team with in their
age group according to USA Hockey, but may be placed on any team with in that
age or grade level according to number or skaters on a particular team. The
board of directors will approve final team rosters and resolve any disputes
that arise.
Any of the following actions shall result in disciplinary
action:
Any instigator and/or fighting during games.
Any use of the stick with intent to harm or injure another
player.
Any use of alcoholic beverage or drugs while a member of
Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc. during the hockey season.
Any use of vulgarity in language, gestures or insinuations
of any kind.
Never talk back to any coach or referee. Back talk to any
coach or referee will not be tolerated.
Any act of vandalism at hockey functions or at any time you
are representing Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc.
Grades are very important and parents should impress upon their
children the importance of maintaining good grades in school. (Any player with
poor grades on their report card should be recommended for extra help and
immediate attention by parents and coaches.)
All players must complete the season with their teams (unless
an injury occurs) to be eligible for any award.
Girls must wear loose fitting boxer style shorts and a t-shirt
in the locker room at all times.
Should girls want to change clothes, they must use the rest
room.
It is the intent of rules to ensure the best possible coaches
are available for Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc. It is our goal to establish
a comfortable position for both coaches and the board. It is not our intent to
restrict the coaches involvement or the Board's control.
Coaches must fill out an application.
Coaches must attend clinics as required by USA Hockey and the
board.
Coaches who fail to set a good example for the skaters may be
called upon to come before the Board to review instances or behavior.
The Board reserves the right to review the coaches performance,
make improvement recommendations and may remove the coach from the position.
Any of the following actions shall result in disciplinary
action:
Any instigator and I or fighting during games.
Any use of alcoholic beverages of drugs while fulfilling
coaching duties.
Any use of vulgarity in language, gestures or insinuations
of any kind.
Do not abuse referees or the coaches of opposing teams.
Any act of vandalism at hockey functions or at any time you
are representing Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc.
Function as a role model and keep skaters interest at all
times.
Objectives of good sportsmanship and learning skills are
more important than winning games.
The head coach is responsible for all equipment issued to
them or to their team and will see that all equipment is returned immediately
at the end of the season.
Will teach the fundamental basics of skating and will
follow the philosophies of Coulee Region Girls Hockey, Inc.
Male coaches shall not be in a locker room when skaters are
changing into or out of their hockey equipment. Male coaches are allowed in the
locker room when a female chaperon or team captain confirms that the team is
ready for the coach to enter. No male coach shall be in a locker room or other
isolated area with a skater without a female chaperon or parent of the skater
present.
No booing or unsportsmanlike behavior while representing Coulee
Region Girls Hockey, Inc.
Ensure skaters are at practices and games suited and ready to
skate prior to the scheduled beginning time.
Parents should support coaches decisions in front of the team.
If there are disagreements then the parent should contact a board member who
will follow up as is appropriate.
Parents are responsible for cleanliness and normal upkeep of
rental or loaned equipment and shall return it promptly at the end of the
season.
Male parents are asked not to go into the locker room unless a
female chaperon or team captain has confirmed that the team is ready for a
parent to enter. Skates should be tied outside the locker room.
