Cameron Communications Officers
Our communications division provides 24 hour dispatch services to Cameron Police, Fire and Ambulance Districts. Our communications division is led by Supervisor Sherri Day. Communications Officers are trained in MULES computer inquiry and entry, emergency medical dispatching and other specialties associated with the professional dispatching of emergency services. The communications division utilizes the Enterprise Edition of Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) developed by Information Technologies Incorporated of St. Louis, MO. The CAD streamlines the flow of information into and out of the communications center.
The communications division is also a major part of the Andrew, Caldwell, Clinton and Dekalb (ACCD) 911 District. The ACCD is the only true interoperable 911 communications system in Missouri. Communications Officers operate two E-911 terminals that are located in the communications area. E-911 provides the communications officer with the phone number of the 911 caller, address, specific information about the caller (special medical needs, hazardous materials, etc) and a map location that is displayed when the 911 call is received. E-911 allows the communications officers to better handle any emergency 911 call that comes in by providing detailed and necessary information.
