A chronicle of the disasters imposed on this country by George W. Bush and his band of robber barons. |

A Measure of the Man... "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a lot easier - just so long as I'm the dictator." George W. Bush |
"W" made this comment in talks before several various groups, a month before he was sworn in as President of The United States. Source: Thieves in High Places, Jim Hightower, Penguin Group, New York, 2003. |

WHY DO THIS? We are going to have another election in November. This time we'll elect a President, and lots of other important people like Senators and Representatives. If you are one of those people who automatically vote the straight Republican ticket, or, even worse, if you are one of those people who never bother to vote, I hope you will read this site from time to time. Like Will Rogers, all I know is what I read in the papers, but from the news stories in those papers I will highlight some of the travesties being perpetrated on the American taxpayer by the man I've come to call King George II. We haven't been paying attention! I promise to quote or paraphrase news stories directly and accurately, and to label my opinions and editorializing. But quite frankly, I'VE HAD ENOUGH and I'm not simply going to sit back in silence any longer. My qualifications? Since King George II took the throne I have been unemployed for three months and under-employed (quarter-time) for seven more months. We've had a distant family member killed while serving in the Army in Iraq. We've worked harder and harder, and fallen further and further behind in the Bush Recession. George Bush and the Republicans simply aren't working for us, or for millions of other Americans, and we're sick and tired of it all! I had a 30 year career in Public Affairs with the U.S. Government, and I am familiar with many of the tricks employed by partisan government or political spin doctors, and the Republicans are using them all. I hope to be just one more voice pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes.

What we want (my wife and I, and a
lot of other people as well) is
simple: We want the needless foreign oil wars to stop and the troops to come
home. We want tax cuts for the rich rolled back and the money used for
pressing social problems at home - things like education, health care, and
infrastructure. We want a government that is concerned with average citizens
like us, rather than seeking to enrich the already wealthy. Sound good? Then vote the bastards out! For further information read my pages on the economy, the war, tax cuts for the rich, health care, constitutional rights, and other topics as they come up. You can also look at the page I call "Lies, Lies, and more Lies." I plan to keep this up until George W. Bush is out of office, or until he figures out a way to shut me up. Hope you become a regular reader. By the way, you'll notice that the color scheme of this website is Red, White, and Blue. This is not to play on your patriotism. Instead, I chose red for the blood shed by American troops and innocent civilians in our shameless oil war. I chose blue for the beautiful skies and waters that have been polluted since George W. Bush and his cronies took power. And white, well, there are about 9 million of us out of work, and no matter what our skin color, we're all being bled white. |
