Easy Happy Bracelets
This could also be called first day of school, daycare, sleepover, etc... bracelets. I made these for when my first son was sleeping away from us when his brother was born. We have made these for sleepovers with cousins and friends and plan to on his first day of preschool also. They made my son much more comfortable and feel like we were there.
Materials
Contact paper (laminate paper)
Pictures of the family if this is for comfort. Or any pictures you want the bracelet for
Scissors
Velcro (about 1/2" in diameter or so)
First you have to decide how large you want the bracelet to be. For my son at age 2 it was 2" wide by 7" long. (You want it to be wide enough for the faces to fit on the band, and long enough to go around the child's wrist comfortable with enough overlap to fit the velcro.) Cut 2 of whatever dimensions you need out of contact paper. Cut the pictures (you could also use photo copies of pictures) so they fit on the one piece of contact paper so that the faces are centered. Stick them on the sticky side of one of the pieces of contact paper. After you have place all of the pictures down then if you would like to embelish more you may place stickers, glitter, paper, or anything else you want behind the pictures. When you get the desired look, you place the other piece of contact paper over the back of the bracelet. Sandwiching the pictures between them. Trim if you need to to finish the edges. Place the velcro on the bracelet so the child can put it on and take it off and reuse it.
You can also do these for slumber parties or birthday parties or any time. You can even do this for your favorite cartoon characters or rock stars if you get magazine clippings.
