Lore's Birth Story

On November 14, 2000, daddy and I went into the hospital to be induced. Since my two older boys were a bit on the larger size we were pretty sure you were going to be larger too. So at 8:00am we were admitted and got into the room. We had a fabulous nurse named Nancy, and she got everything ready for the doctor. When the doctor came he started the induction the contractions reached about full strenghth by 10:00am. We did lots of walking and checking and walking. The baby's heart rate dropped a bit, but nothing too bad, so I was on a monitor a lot more. Which was a good thing. At 11:26pm the baby's heart rate dropped to 40bpm (normally about 140bpm) The doctor and lots of nurses ran into the room. We didn't know what was going on, because at the time we weren't able to see the monitor. Finally I was able to see it and told Tim what was going on. I was 8 cm dialated and doc said we're having the baby now. Push one and the head was out, push two everything else. Lore was born at 11:28pm. Less than two minutes after his heart rated dropped. Luckily he was only 8lbs and 3oz which was much smaller than we were expecting. He was perfectly healthy and scored an apgar of 8 then 10. I was able to hold him almost right away. And he was nursing soon after with zero problems. It was the scariest thing in my whole life, but luckily everything turned out just fine. I was sore and ripped quite a bit, but that heals. Now we have 3 beautiful boys.
