2003 Yard Haunt

This year we are finally starting our yard haunting. We have been wanting to do this for years, but we have had obsticles such as finances, time, and no yard. This year won't be quite what we want yet, but we're starting out, and that's something. This page is going to be a cronicle of what we are doing. Hopefully as we make more props, we'll even have "how to's".

We haven't done much as of yet. We are just in the planning . We have our graveyard fence started. We had to keep this small, since we have such a short yard. I still have to sand those and paint them. We are getting our tombstones ideas together, and figuring out the best techniques for making these. We also have the base for the skull fountain ready, I just need to find/make some skulls. So we're getting started.


Costumes
Believe it or not, the boys already are getting there wishes in for what they want to be this year for Halloween, And, they have chosen the hardest costumes for me to make compared to other years, so I may actually have to start now. Levi wants to be Mike Wazowski (the green one eyed monster from Monster Inc.) Liam wants to be Spiderman. And Lore wants to be Larryboy, (the cucumber super hero from the veggie tales spinoff, which they don't even manufacture a costume yet, so I don't have anything to go by, and Larryboy techniclly has no arms or legs, ) I'm not quite sure how to start this one. Tim and I haven't made any decissions yet, we know we are planning on keeping it simple this year.

Last year Tim went as Gary from the ambiguously gay duo. He went with a friend of ours named Jason. Jason's wife Gina was Frau from Austin Powers, I was Unibrau. The men's costumes were great! They purchased some powder blue unitards, and I am made yellow "undies". I also made the cuffs, boot covers, and letters for their chests also. As far as my costume is concerned, I purchased all of mine from Goodwill and put fake hair on my brow line. Hopefully I will post some pictures soon, we have been having problems with our camera to computer hookup.

The Boys-
Levi went as a skeleton, which Tim and I making out of glow in the dark paint, and black sweats, and ski mask. He loved it!
Liam's costume was great! He was a tube of tootpaste which I made from felt, with a lampshade on his head.
Lore ended up being Blue from Blue's clues. It was a costume we had bought for Levi a long time ago, but that's what his final decision was, and in our house we know better than to argue with a 2 year old! He was very cute!
