Baby Shower Favors

As favors are not a requirement for a baby shower, they are extremely appreciated. It is a sign of appreciation for making time to come and honor the new family, also its a thank you for the gift giving also to a point. Here are some great suggestions for some favor ideas. There are some favors for different price ranges. If you have any great favor ideas, or comments, or even questions please feel free to email me below.

Favor Ideas
No matter what favor you give you should always add a bit of personalization, whether its the way the gift is wrapped or a lovely poem or even a photograph, these things make them always remembered. And the guest will feel that much more honored.

Favors Specializing
Votive Candle & Holder (these can be quite inexpensive if you keep your eyes open for deals) Wrap these in tulle or colored celephane and secure at the top with a ribon. You could also add a small card with a sweet poem on it.
Terricotta Pots Filled With Candies (patel colored candies either individually wrapped or not, but if they're not wrapped than line the pot first) Wrap this in tulle or colored celephane then secure with a ribbon. If you'd like you can add a single flower to the center. You could also add a sweet poem if you'd like for an extra special sentimate.
Small terricotta pots filled with a small bag of dirt and a few seeds. (The seeds could be either herbs, edible flowers like pansys, or anything you like.) Place the soil (in a bag) into the pot, then wrap it up in cellephane, secure with a ribbon, string the seed packet onto the ribbon, you could also add a lovely poem about the begining of life.
Photo Keychain (These acrylic photo keychains can be picked up almost anywhere, and they are usually about $1 a piece. If you keep your eyes open sometimes you can find even better deals.) You can tie some curling ribbon or a nice bow around the keychain part. Place a lovely poem or a picture or saying and insert it into the picture area.
Coffee Mugs with a sampling of gourmet coffees, teas, or hot chocolates. Wrap up the tea, coffee, or hot chocolate samplings in tulle or colored cellephane and secure with a ribbon place that into the mug. You could also use potpouri if you'd like.
Chocolate Spoons (these spoons are stirred into warm milk for making hot chocolates, or into hot coffee for chocolate flavored coffees.)Buy some heavy duty plastic spoons in whatever color you like. Then melt either chocolate or white chocolate in a double boiler. Dip the spoons in the melted candy to coat the bowl of the spoon (you may have to let it cool and dip again a few times until you have as much chocolate as you'd like.) For a lovely added touch melt some candy melts (you can get these in many craft sections in the cake decorating areas, there are tons of colors.) You can get blue and pink or whatever will coordinate with your motiff. Drizzle these over the chocolate on the spoons. Let cool then cover with celephane and secure with a bow. These are always a huge hit!
LifeSaver Pacifiers (These are cute, they are usually only part of the favors, could also be part of the decorations) To assemble these you need 2 lifesavers, 1tic tac or gumdrop (whichever you prefer.) and some frosting or melted almond bark. Place one lifesaver flat on a table, put a dab of frosting or bark on the end of the other lifesaver, stick the side of that saver near the hole of the other (like an upside down T) after that has hardened flip it over so it'll look like the base of a pacifier, dab some more frosting or almond bark in the hole and place either a tic tac or a gumdrop for the nipple. Place a ribbon around the "handle"
Bathroom Basket Small bottles of lotion, bath gels, bath beads, soaps, and/or other bathroom accessories. Place one or some of these in a nice basket or just wrap them in tule and tie it off with ribbon.
Gift Certificates These can be as little as $5 a piece or more. The only thing is that if you get gift certificates be sure that there is a store/restaurant that honors the certificate near each guest. This is especially important if there are many people from many different regions. Put these in decorated envelopes or wraped in some decorative papers/fabric. Tie with a ribbon.
Picture Fun Decorative picture frames, acid free photo albums, photo keychains, disposable cameras (these work nicely with a gift certificate for picture developing.) Place these in decorative bags or baskets with lovely ribbons.
Stationary, decorative notepads, decorative pens Writting is a lost art that is making a big come back. You can find lovely and not horribly priced decorative writting materials that are fairly neutral that a wide variety of people would like. You can wrap these up in a simple ribbon, or in lovely fabric or papers.
"Bun in the oven"Make little cinnamon rolls (the kind that come in a can work just fine or you could make home made) Wrap each one in pink or blue plastic wrap, and attach a ribbon to it with a tag saying: 'Thank you from (mother's name)'s bun in the oven!'
*Note if twins or more just add more buns and pluralize the poem.
"Bottles" Here is an adult way to use baby bottles, and if you purchase the bottles and lotion at your local dollar store it could be fairly inexpensive. Buy 4oz baby bottles (enough for everyone) and fill them up with wonderful lotion. Then seal them up and put some ribbon around the neck.
Hugs and Kisses Hershey's has made this favor very easy to do. Purchase some Hershey's Hugs (these are the white and dark chocolate candies) and Hershey's Kisses. Wrap these in tulle and secure with a ribbon. Attatch a note that says "Hugs and Kisses From The Baby"
Mini wine bottles These are great (everyone attending should be over legal age) Most vineyards and nicer wine stores have sample sized bottles that aren't terribly expensive. **Note: sometimes you can even find sparkling ciders too which is nice to give to mom-to-be. Purchase mini wine bottles and attatch a ribbon, a poem or thank you, and maybe a pacifier, mini bottle, rattle, etc... around the neck.
