The 2011 Hurricane Season officially started 1 June in the Atlantic Basin.

The last day of the 2011 season was 30 Nov. in which we experienced 19 tropical events. By all standards
this was a big year! We had 1 Tropical Depression, 12 (Named) Tropical Storms and 6 Named Hurricanes.
For those of us on the South Texas coast 4 of them - ARLENE, DON, HARVEY and NATE were of
particular concern. We offer THANKS that they were not particularly effective at
27deg 49.4min North, 97 deg 3.7 min West.
